Texas Tommy
DJNicknamed after one of the Lindy moves that he just has zero idea how to do properly (and visibly happy about it), Texas Tommy started DJ-ing in 2016, not too long after getting comfortable with Lindy Hop. His obsession with swing music in general began a lot earlier, though, through his love for video games such as the “Fallout” franchise and “Mafia II.” The influences stemming from them were easily visible in his early sets and it took a few years to refine the overall style into what he now defines as “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that triple step.” Having DJ-ed at events such as Lindy Hop Non Stop, Silesia Swing Festival and Amber Swing, Tommy can’t wait to bring his ideas to this edition of Retro Weekend. You can expect a lot of Cab Calloway, Count Basie and Duke Ellington during his sets, but also singing along: don’t be surprised if you hear a very loud and not necessarily on-key “Salt Pork!” somewhere through the evenings.
